To Write for Fun

When you are at a point in your life when you don’t have to think more about a career, it may come naturally for some to grab a pen or a keyboard. I started the writing for fun many years ago, but never seriously. If I could at the time, I would – then. Maybe. But there were other commitments apart from just inventing and writing for fun. In any case, I still came up with many imaginary stories and ideas for more, which I now venture into trying to publish on my own. What I’m trying to say is that life gets easier when you don’t have to worry about selling your stories. Even if it’s fun when something is sold.

Today I took some time off writing and crocheting and went onto my blog. I changed the name of the site to 2write4fun and added three starlings as a logo. Then I took more time doing nothing, just to sit on a garden bench contemplating which story will be the next to publish.

Today the October spring weather is around 29C here in Perth, Western Australia. Better sit outside in the shade, as long as it lasts with these kind or normal temperatures. From now on, the days will heat up.

Next few months will be warmer, so much warmer. February usually comes with extremely high temperatures. On 23 February 1991 we reached 46.7C. This is equal to 116.06F. Global Warming was not thought of much in those days.

Maybe AI will produce a picture of me struggling and sweating with shopping bags containing a weekly food supply for a family of five. The worst was when the car refused to start. I had to ask for a lift by a young man, someone I had never seen before. I doubt we had mobile phones in those days. Maybe not in our family anyway.

AI just made this picture. Not me, but another imaginary struggling woman who doesn’t like such days either.

In 1977 we went from the cold weather in Sweden to sometimes extremely hot days in Australia. But as yet, we haven’t regretted the decision. Well, only when it’s around 47C.
